When many people think about cheap doctors they think of doctors’ clinics.  Usually the first thing that comes to mind is the long and tedious never-ending line of folks waiting outside for an appointment with the doctor. Most doctors’ clinics sport the same look. White. Serious. Grim. In fact, that’s what creates an eerie feeling for those who are going to be operated upon. And that’s true for all doctors’ clinics. Major Types of Clinics

There can be various kinds of clinics, depending upon the specialisation of the doctor. Accordingly, there can be an:

• Eye clinic
• Dental clinic
• General clinic
• Skin clinic
• ENT clinic

The list is endless and surprisingly all of them are in huge demand throughput the year. So whether it is a pediatric doctor or physician or a surgeon, every doctor has a clinic of his or her own. It usually comprises a cabin for the doctor, where he treats the patients and hands out prescriptions and an area for reception.

A clinic (sometimes referred to as an outpatient clinic) is typically a small private or public health facility that is devoted solely to the care of outpatients, often this occurs in a community environment.  This is in contrast to larger hospitals which also treat inpatients. Some clinics grow to be institutions as large as major hospitals, while retaining the name clinic. These advanced units are often associated with a hospital or medical school. General practice clinics are run by one or more general practitioners or practice managers. Physiotherapy clinics are usually operated by physiotherapists and psychology clinics by clinical psychologists, and so on for each health profession. Some clinics are operated in-house by employers, government organizations or hospitals and some clinical services are outsourced to private corporations, specialising in provision of health services. In China, for example, owners of those clinics do not have formal medical education. Health care in India, China, Russia and Africa is provided to vast rural areas by mobile health clinics or roadside dispensaries, some of which integrate traditional health practices. In India these traditional clinics provide ayurvedic medicine and unani herbal medical practice. In each of these countries traditional medicine tends to be an hereditary practice.
